Workshop creating collages on a specific theme

First you got 15minutes to create one collage on the theme you chose.
'SURREALISM' was the theme of my chose.

As a whole group we tried to guess theme people chose and also discussed positives, negatives and interesting comments.

Taking on the comments that were made,
we had 10minutes to create another collage on the same theme.

Finally 20minutes was given to create a series of collage rather then one. We had to make as many as we possible could. As you can see I only managed to make 5.

This was an enjoyable workshop as you was allowed to express your own opinion about other peoples work as well as hear other people opinion. The time limit was a challenge as I had to really push myself but it was an interesting one as that.

Letterpress!!

The first of four letterpress lesson's.
It was an enjoyable introductory lesson of 21/2 hour.

During the first lesson I gained some knowledgeable infroamtion from wise man Dave. As well as....

  • Introducted to the point system
  • The basic of type setting
  • Using the point system to 'make up' a design in order to print
  • Introduction to proof press
It's quiet a time consuming process but pleasing. You have to be aware of the type e.g. right spelling. It's a brand new experiance for me and I can't wait to continue on. It's something that really intrests me.

Decriptive Language about an image?????

Tranquil configuration, accompanying psychedelic luminosity and hypothtial docility. Interpreting paranormal quintessence of enlightenment applicalbe to meduca tress and creater representation upon the embodiment. Bequeathing innervetion of phantasm and trepidation.

Does anyone understand the meaning of this? No? so why is this sort of language used?

Its a smooth curvaceous image with crazy colours and questionable femininity. It portrays a mystical essence of life, due to the medusa styled hair and animal print on the torso. This gives the feeling of a hullucination and excitment.

This is the more understandable version above!! so is it best to decribe something in a more simpler way?....... Well we communicate with each other (student to student, tutor to student) in a recognizable language, so when is it an appropriate time to use the discriptive language that was used at the beginning?
